The cottage sits on its own at Te Pahu, where the farmland folds up into the bush of Mt Pirongia. It's quiet, it's private, and the view from the deck is the sort you plan a weekend around.

Inside it's warm and easy — two bedrooms, a proper kitchen, a sunny living room and a covered balcony made for slow mornings and long evenings. Bring the dog; there aren't many places around here that will, and we're glad to.

Come for the walks on the maunga, day trips to Raglan, Waitomo and Hobbiton, or for nothing at all but the birdsong.

Are dogs really welcome?
Yes — we love having dogs, with one thing to note: small, house-trained dogs only. The cottage is a proper little home rather than a farm setup, so it isn't suited to hunting dogs or outdoor/kennel dogs. Tell us about your dog when you book and we'll make sure it's a good fit.
How many people does the cottage sleep?
Up to 4 guests. There's a queen bed in the main bedroom and two singles in the second bedroom, plus couches in the living room to relax on.

It's at Te Pahu, at the foot of Mt Pirongia in the Waikato — about 25 minutes from Hamilton. It's private and rural; we send you the exact address and directions once your stay is booked.
